Things I build when I'm not chasing a toddler.

ThriftWhip

Paste a VIN or a used-car listing and ThriftWhip pulls the whole picture on it — open recalls, known problem spots, title and odometer history, running costs, and whether the asking price actually holds up against comparable cars. Save a search against eBay Motors and Auto.dev (GSA Auctions and dealer inventory as opt-in sources) and it keeps watching, with email and push when something matches.

There's a Chrome extension that overlays the same recall and trust data on listing pages across the web, an MCP server so Claude Desktop can pull car data directly, an Expo mobile app, and an AI "Car Concierge" (Claude) that answers questions about any listing.

Stack: Next.js and Expo over a shared tRPC API, PostgreSQL/Prisma on Supabase, Redis + BullMQ queues, Typesense search, a compliance-gated Cheerio dealer-site crawler, Clerk, Postmark, Stripe, and Claude.
